Halo vs Already Gone

Was Kelly Clarkson right to say that both songs are alike?

Listen and find out.

Halo with Beyonce Knowles

Already Gone with Kelly Clarkson

Halo lyrics
Songwriters: Bogart, Evan Kidd; Knowles, Beyonce Gisselle; Tedder, Ryan Benjamin;

Remember those walls I built
Well, baby they're tumbling down
And they didn't even put up a fight
They didn't even make up a sound

I found a way to let you in
But I never really had a doubt
Standing in the light of your halo
I got my angel now

It's like I've been awakened
Every rule I had you breakin'
It's the risk that I'm takin'
I ain't never gonna shut you out

Everywhere I'm looking now
I'm surrounded by your embrace
Baby I can see your halo
You know you're my saving grace

You're everything I need and more
It's written all over your face
Baby I can feel your halo
Pray it won't fade away

I can feel your halo halo halo
I can see your halo halo halo
I can feel your halo halo halo
I can see your halo halo halo

Hit me like a ray of sun
Burning through my darkest night
You're the only one that I want
Think I'm addicted to your light

I swore I'd never fall again
But this don't even feel like falling
Gravity can't forget
To pull me back to the ground again

Feels like I've been awakened
Every rule I had you breakin'
The risk that I'm takin'
I'm never gonna shut you out

Everywhere I'm looking now
I'm surrounded by your embrace
Baby I can see your halo
You know you're my saving grace

You're everything I need and more
It's written all over your face
Baby I can feel your halo
Pray it won't fade away

I can feel your halo halo halo
I can see your halo halo halo
I can feel your halo halo halo
I can see your halo halo halo

I can feel your halo halo halo
I can see your halo halo halo
I can feel your halo halo halo
I can see your halo halo halo
Halo, halo

Everywhere I'm looking now
I'm surrounded by your embrace
Baby I can see your halo
You know you're my saving grace

You're everything I need and more
It's written all over your face
Baby I can feel your halo
Pray it won't fade away

I can feel your halo halo halo
I can see your halo halo halo
I can feel your halo halo halo
I can see your halo halo halo

I can feel your halo halo halo
I can see your halo halo halo
I can feel your halo halo halo
I can see your halo halo halo

Already Gone lyrics
Songwriters: Clarkson, Kelly Brianne; Tedder, Ryan;

Remember all the things we wanted
Now all our memories they're haunted
We were always meant to say goodbye

Even with our fists held high
It never would've worked out right
We were never meant for do or die

I didn't want us to burn out
I didn't come here to hold you, now I can't stop

I want you to know that it doesn't matter
Where we take this road someone's gotta go
And I want you to know you couldn't have loved me better
But I want you to move on so I'm already gone

Looking at you makes it harder
But I know that you'll find another
That doesn't always make you want to cry

Started with a perfect kiss then we could feel the poison set in
Perfect couldn't keep this love alive
You know that I love you so, I love you enough to let you go

I want you to know that it doesn't matter
Where we take this road someone's gotta go
And I want you to know you couldn't have loved me better
But I want you to move on so I'm already gone

I'm already gone, already gone
You can't make it feel right when you know that it's wrong
I'm already gone, already gone
There's no moving on so I'm already gone

Already gone, already gone, already gone
Already gone, already gone, already gone, yeah

Remember all the things we wanted
Now all our memories they're haunted
We were always meant to say goodbye

I want you to know that it doesn't matter
Where we take this road someone's gotta go
And I want you to know you couldn't have loved me better
But I want you to move on so I'm already gone

I'm already gone, already gone
You can't make it feel right when you know that it's wrong
I'm already gone, already gone
There's no moving on so I'm already gone

Jessica Said "Indian Giver"

Apparently, Native Americans are outraged because Jessica Simpson said she's not an "Indian Giver".

I've heard this phrase, 'Indian giver' growing up in the Philippines, long before I ever meet a Native American. I understand that this phrase means taking something that is given away. Is it offensive? Maybe. But it's like 'French Fries' and going 'Dutch' and the likes.

I am not sure of the etymology of the word, but it might have something to do with Native Americans 'giving' something to the White settlers and then taking it back. Some opinions said that it might be a misunderstanding. What the White settlers took for a gift might in fact just be a loan. This type of thing can happen. For example, I am very careful not to loan to certain people things that I like. They tend to mistake loan for gift. I don't like having to beg for my favorite item back, so I just don't loan anything unless I can be sure to let it go also.

Did Jessica Simpson do something wrong by using that phrase? Well, let's just put it this way. We're still going Dutch buying French fries.

Today's Flowers

I saw this one at Six Flags Fiesta near the Wiggle's World ride.

We have this flower back in my hometown in the Philippines. I've always associated this flower to my childhood home.

On a recent trip to San Antonio, we walked along the Riverwalk. There are many flowers along the path. Too bad it was dark already when we did, but I managed to take a few pictures.

I Am Lucky To Have Zenni Optical!

Two of my children need to wear glasses. The first one I bought for my 5 years old broke within 3 hours of getting it home. I kid you not. It literally broke in half. A cousin of his was making fun of his four-eyes, he got so frustrated, and he broke it. I paid 100 dollars for that pair of eyeglasses. Ugh! The worst part is I forgot to purchase replacement insurance. Double ugh! I have not even gotten yet to my 11 years old pair of 250 dollars glasses. She lost it. It is not the first time this happened either.

I too used break my glasses, but never on purpose. The first year I started wearing glasses, I broke 10 pairs. I would misplace them, and then found them when I hear them crack under my heels or under my bottom because I step or sat on it. I have no idea how my mother dealt with it. She'd get me another because I needed it to see. It took me ages to remember to take them off properly so I don't lose them in my sleep. My mother does not have many alternatives. She wasn’t lucky enough to have online shopping then.

Rocks - A Photo Hunt

Rocks can be beautiful as a garden, like this one.

Or a beautiful place to hike.

Downtown Ft. Worth

For weekend snapshot. I took it while driving. I was careful and didn't look at my camera window.

Photo Hunt

You can click on the picture to make it bigger. This isn't garbage until a car met this beautiful mailbox. I didn't hit it. I only came along to take the picture. Wait. My husband came along to take the picture. He didn't hit it either.

Must Have Satellite TV

I took my kids out to dine at a restaurant where servers wear the skimpiest tops and tiniest shorts. I noticed that they have big screens every where. There seem to be a TV screen every two table. I realized that it's important to have Directv for business. How else are they going to keep my five children sitting in place while we try to eat? I know it's better to eat without watching TV. I heard it's more healthy to eat that way. But the truth is, having a satellite TV handy makes eating out fun. I just wish they'd put some sound to the TV. My sister have a DIRECT TV. She's really happy with it. She gets channel from the Philippines. I guess I must be away from Philippines so long, I don't care for it one way or the other. However, my sister is very happy with hers. She likes the convenience of recording her favorite shows. Some days, she's just too tired to stay up and watch them.

Flower's Today

I see flowers like this, and I just know that with this killer Texas heat, they must have their sprinkler on.

Look how healthy these suckers are. I mean flowers. My gorgeous flowers are dying. I don't have a sprinkler system, and I'm too lazy to water the flowers. I will have to start all over again in the fall when it's not so hot to garden. Or I should move my flower beds under the shade of a tree. Why do I pick up the one spot in my yard without a shade? Beats me!

Ecologically Safe Binocular

I've got to hand it to Nikon for coming up with the first ecologically friendly binocular. Whether I'm just out for short hike with my family, or communing with nature in Colorado, Nikon Ecobins is a good companion. The materials it came from is eco-friendly. Its glass and prisms are arsenic-free and lead-free. The packaging paper is completely tree-free. Instead, they use waste material from existing quarries for building materials. I wish that more and more manufacturer will follow Nikon's good example to save our environment. This product is not only eco-friendly, it's fog-proof and water-proof also. It looks just right. It's going to feel great using this product knowing that I'm doing my part to save a piece of this world.

Lakeview Terrace - Samuel L. Jackson

Samuel Jackson is a neighbor from hell to this new couple moving into a pretty neighborhood. It's not because he's black, it's because he's a damn good actor, if you ask me.

He's quite racist, in the movie that is. And in his twisted sick mind, he's got good reason to be. The scary part of it all is he's also a cop. Who do you call if you're having problem with a cop? Anyway, Lakeview Terrace is nicely done. I enjoyed it, and was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I would say I was so stressed out, I had to eat lots of ice cream to calm myself down.
