L is for Lombard Street in San Francisco. It's tauted as one of the crookedest street in the states. I think it was 8 switch backs. We climbed it up and down the other side. It's crowded. I almost feel sorry for the residents there. They can't ever just sit outside and take in the cool San Francisco air because there's tourist abound.

A cool street. But I am glad we donn't have anyting like this in Norway. It would not be funny to drive this street in snowy conditions :-)
We have no streets at all like this, mainly flat. Good personal choice,
I visited there a few years back--cool effect standing in such a place.

It certainly is crooked! But very pretty with all those flowers.
Wonderful choice for the Letter L and yes the residents of Lombard Street must get tired of seeing all the tourists.

Beautiful street with all those pink hydrangeas.
Bill Cosby did a bit on Lombard St 40 years go. "They make Lombard Street go straight down, and since they're not satisfied with you killing yourself that way, they put all these twists and curves in there!" Then he mentions the flowers being for all the people who've killed themselves. It was very funny.
