Why Eat Garlic?

Back in my psychology class, we were talking about Prozac. My professor mentioned that Garlic is the prozac of the kitchen. Why?

Here's why.

♦ Garlic is said to reduce cancer like esophageal, stomach, and colon cancer.

♦ It may lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the blood, inhibit platelet stickiness (aggregation), and increase fibrinolysis-which results in a slowing of blood coagulation.

♦ Garlic is mildly antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-fungal. It has about 1% the strenth of penicillin.

♦ Garlic is known to lower blood pressure. My aunts have been taking whole garlic to alleviate high blood pressure, righ alongside copper bracelets.

♦ It has an antiseptic effect and is an excellent remedy for infectious diseases and inflammations of the stomach and intestine. The oil of garlic is absorbed into the alimentary tract and is eliminated partly through the urine.

and there are so much more about garlic here and here.
