A Long and Winding Road
Happy New Year
Complain Less*

If you think your salary is low, how about her?

If you think you don't have many friends...

When you feel like giving up, think of this man

If you think you suffer in life, do you suffer as much as he does?

If you complain about your transport system, how about them?

If your society is unfair to you, how about her?

Charlie Daniels vs Obama*
Since I identify with the people who fall into Barrack Obama's elitist description about people of faith who keep firearms I'm not very happy with Barrack Obama's recent remarks.
He said something to the effect that us rednecks cling to our guns and our religion when we get frustrated and I would like to take umbrage to these remarks. My faith goes much deeper than his superficial explanation and I love my guns even when I'm not frustrated.
And I am not by myself. I was going to church and shooting guns before Mr. Obama was even born and come from a long line of good people who have been doing it for generations.
To me this latest Obama blunder only helps reveal the depth of condescension the far left wing of the Democrat party has for the folks out here in flyover country.
Mr. Obama's remarks are insulting to a lot of folks. God must love the common people because He made so many of them'.
His remarks make me think that Obama doesn't know the people of this country very well. I'm sure he knows the jet set and the Hollywood bunch, the limousine liberals and the save the whales, kill the babies crowd, but does he think that the ordinary people don't count? Does he think that they're so stupid that they don't know who he's talking about when he says these things? Does he think their opinions aren't important? Apparently.
How can a man stand in front of America and tell people what he wants to do for them and have so little respect for a whole segment of the population? In fact, a very large segment. Does that mean that he would only represent the high-minded liberal ideals of the far left and ignore the rest of us?
What kind of Commander and Chief would he make if he doesn't respect the very people who make up the lion's share of the armed forces?
You may say I'm over reacting, but I'm getting sick and tired of him making these elitist statements and saying that he had been taken out of context or some other flimsy excuse.
After his wife's remark about not being proud of this country and his pastor's statements calling America the U.S.K.K.K.A. and his own statement about not wanting his daughter punished with a baby, it makes me wonder what kind of a man Obama really is and what kind of a President he'd make.
Would he be an antigun advocate pushing the effort to take the firearms out of innocent citizen's hands? Would he not respect the religious beliefs of America, not taking them into account in his agenda?
I really don't know much about the man and neither does America. He basically came from out of nowhere and as the facts come out little by little, they don't make a particularly confident picture. I have a great fear that if our military gets broken by another president, this time we're not going to have time to fix it again and what that spells for America, I don't even want to contemplate. Oh well, I guess I'll grab my gun and go to church.

Cleaning Dervish
On another news, my poor little brother is paying for a lawyer so he can get screwed again. Yep, you got that right. Screwed, as in royally. He's slowly but surely being stripped of every thing. I think he should fire his lawyer, she's next to useless and she's in cahoots with the bitchy not-quite-ex-wife who sleep around with other people while 'pretending to be married' to my brother. The marriage should be annuled. If it's done under fake reason, and designed to cheat the other person of their right to know clearly what they're in for, then the marriage is no good.
Anyways, I think my brother needs lots of prayers. You know what they say, gotta pick up a spouse carefully because you could end up with a spouse like my brother has. What a nightmare his life has been. All of it. All marriage-part of it.

Obama or Clinton, who’s better against the Republican?
Obama or Clinton, who’s better against the Republican?
Everybody thinks that Clinton is a liability against the Republican candidate, probably McCain.
They say that the Republicans hate her, will be motivated to vote ‘against’ her, and Obama is likeable and acceptable to Republicans.
Ok, this is simply and absolutely false.
I mean, FALSE BY THE TIME OF THE ELECTION.
Clinton indeed lacks the personality and character that Obama has. She’s petty, when Obama compliments her, instead of complimenting him back, she says, ‘I agree.’
When Obama has a valid argument, Clinton uses the words of his argument, the key words, in her own speeches as if she thought of them.
Instead of meeting him like a man (no sexism intended, that’s just English) she snipes for petty points.
Now, all hands, attention, focus: Hillary is the better candidate!
Why?
Number one: The Democrats are GOING TO WIN. PERIOD.
A: The weakest turnout for the weaker of the two Democrats had more turnout that the entire Republican primaries.
B: The Americans are tired of having their hands bitten by those they are trying to help. Nobody likes to be spit on by someone to whom they are giving charity.
No one likes to shed their blood only to be called thieves.
No one likes to love their fellow man only to have that fellow man blow up their children in uniform.
Americans want out. McCain promises to stay, both Democrats promise to leave.
Now, once the race begins in earnest, the reason Obama is the worse candidate is because, far from being liberal, hes’ not a liberal, oh no. He’s a RADICAL. Think about it. Yes, he was ‘ahead of his time’ by voting against the war.
But, let’s wait a minute. We were recently attacked, there seemed to be strong evidence that convinced everybody, yet he voted against it. That means HE DIDN’T CARE WHAT YOU THOUGHT. He’s left of the horizon, he’s hiding it, and he doesn’t care what anybody thinks.
Sadly, that’s all the Clintons do care about, what the public opinion polls think moment by moment. Sadly for their character. But exactly what I want in a Democrat President.
I mean, if we must have one.

He's Hot!
Have I told you my secret reason, my motivation to watch LOST? Yeah, the series is really great. I think JJ Abrams is a genius with TV series. That's why I am going to watch Felicity after I finish with Alias. It's Josh. He's so yummy! I see him and well, he just want to make you want to sin. Yup. Josh Holloway is hot!Take a look at that muscle difinition. Yeah, baby!
August Rush, The Movie
Once in a while, I go to see a movie without reading the previews, except to check how many stars yahoo users gave it. This movie, August Rush is one of them. I went to see this with two other member of my family. This movie did not disappoint at all. It's about an orphan looking for his parents by following the music. There's a side story of the parents who are both musical and so star-crossed, it makes your heart ache. Jonathan Rhys-Meyers is so very yummy in this movie. Noticed the excessive use of superlatives here. Robin Williams did a great job managing orphans like that guy in Oliver! It reminds me so much of that movie, I kept expecting Freddie Highmore to break out into "Please sir, may I have some more?"
Lover Eternal by JR Ward
I like how the roles have change on vampire. Yeah they such blood, but they're not like rabid dogs who pass on the condition. I like that. Then the enemies of the vampire called Lesser are like mean albinos (no offense to Albinos intended, of course), but that's how they're made. The kept their hearts in a jar, and they become eunuch.
See what a mean when I said the roles have change? This is not your regular vampire books. I can see a little similarity with Sherrilyn Kenyon's vampire books. I'm caught up with her series, so it's really nice to find another series to read. I wonder if there's anymore out there.

Discrimination
Today's show was about soccer and discrimination. The men's team charges 7 USD for something, and the women's team only 4 USD. A lot of ladies called in complaining about discrimination because the fees suggest that the women are not good enough. As I said, I only heard a little of the show, so I didn't quite know how the 3$ difference makes it a discrimination. Sometimes, I think that the word "discrimination" is bastardized. It's used so much, it's lost is power, and it's meaning.

I Didn't Know
Yes, some people are great with long hair like Daniel Day Lewis, but others rock when they're bald.

Season of Giving
I don't have an iPod or iPhone. Someone wants to give me some, but I'm not ready for it. I have no idea where to use it for. I'll get one when I'm ready. I'm just not ready now. If I really have to think hard what I'd want, then I'd say "time." I want time to catch up on reading and time to just sit and do nothing. I don't think they sell those at the stores.
Bunnies and Plates
An Ode to the Titan
As you realized this, your head blanks out as you plunged downward into a dark abyss, but only for a few seconds before it lifts you up again. Way up into the sky as if to fling you out your seat so you can fly and land in the Superman Tower of Strength.
It's a ride not to be missed...yeah though you walk in the shadow of death...the ride is worth it.
More LOST Than Ever
That is what I call dedication when I am more than willing to drive the extra miles on a Saturday, with all those luscious books waiting for me to devour. I went, I grabbed them...and well, I didn't quite make it to the information desk before getting waylaid by a Library Sale.
I cannot resist them. I went, browse, and found some wonderful copies of children's books. I have Babar's book, which we do not have yet, some mini-books that I like. I even found an unopened VHS of Pride and Prejudice starring my favorite Mr. Darcy, Colin Firth.
I came home with the yummy LOST with Mr. Darcy as a bonus! Truly, you haven't live until you've seen Pride and Prejudice.
